HORSESHOE BAY - Brazen burglars on a booze heist are being sought by police after $500 worth of liquor disappeared early Sunday from the Horseshoe Bay Resort.
Police Chief Bill Lane said the thefts were reported around 9 a.m., though it’s believed the goods were stolen around 5 a.m. that day.
“All we can determine is that liquor was taken at two locations,” Lane said.
The first break-in occurred at the Palm Boutique, which adjoins the La Bahia restaurant at the Resort. A second break-in was reported at a cabana near the resort swimming pool.
“It looks like we lost around $300 in liquor from the La Bahia restaurant, along with several bottles from the cabana,” Lane said. “It comes to just under $500 total.”
No one was harmed during the burglaries, and Lane said only the alcohol has been reported missing.
“We’re examining several leads, in addition to viewing resort security videos in attempts to develop suspects,” he said.
Anyone with information on the break-ins is asked to call the Horseshoe Bay Police Department at (830) 598-2633 or Crime Stoppers at (866) 756-8477.
