MARBLE FALLS - Main Street Market Day will be 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 on Main Street in Marble Falls.

More than 100 vendors with merchandise ranging from stained glass to pet collars will market their wares.

“Any opportunity to bring people to Marble Falls and to show them what Marble Falls has to offer, I think, is a good thing,” said Christian Fletcher, executive director of the Marble Falls/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce. “When the weather is nice, we’ll have more than 1,000 people strolling on Main Street throughout the day.”

The Billy Proctor Band will perform from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We get a lot more people that don’t normally come here,” said Lacee Jordan, an employee at Zoo La La for the past three months.

Portions of Main Street will be closed to through traffic, allowing shoppers to mingle in the streets. Cars are generally parked on Avenue J and the numbered streets in the area.

“When you work, you have to park across the road, but it’s so nice to see all the people,” said Lecia Gliddon, an employee at Cecil & Co. Seafood and Steaks.

Market days are held twice a year on the second weekends of March and September. The event has been continuing for more than a decade, said officials.

“The restaurants always do very well on market days,” said Fletcher. “Some (businesses) will have an immediate benefit and some will receive exposure, and people will come back.”
