MEADOWLAKES - A Meadowlakes man remained in jail Friday after his arrest late Thursday following a brief standoff and chase with police.
Adrian Robles, 30, has been charged with assault causing bodily injury, according to Burnet County Jail officials. He is also jailed on four outstanding warrants related to charges of theft by check, speeding, failure to stop at a stop sign and violating a promise to appear.
He remained behind bars Friday in lieu of posting a $15,000 bond.
Precinct 4 Constable Mac McCurdy said he received a call from the 100 block of Turkey Run around 9:45 p.m. Thursday, after a man threatened his wife with a handgun during a domestic squabble at their residence.
“A guy came home, got into a scuffle with his wife, and there was a gun involved,” McCurdy said. The woman ran to a neighbor’s house to call police, while the man remained in their residence with their three children.
As police arrived, the man ran out a back door.
McCurdy said he entered the residence to check on the children while officers from the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office and the Marble Falls Police Department searched for the man.
“He ran out the back of the house to his father-in-law’s house, and that’s where we found him,” McCurdy said.
Officers were on the scene for about an hour, and McCurdy said no shots were fired and no one was injured.
Assault causing bodily injury against a family member is a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine not to exceed $10,000. The case remains under investigation.
