KINGSLAND - Law officers confiscated more than $76,000 worth of marijuana Oct. 22 and issued an arrest warrant in connection with the raid.
“No one was home at the time of the search,” said Capt. Dwight Hardin of the Burnet County Special Operations Unit.
Officers served a search warrant on an indoor marijuana-growing operation in the 100 block of Highline Cutoff Drive near Kingsland, which yielded 48 marijuana plants ranging from 3 to 6 feet tall, deputies said. They also seized lights and other equipment, Hardin said. He estimated the street value of the crop at $76,464.
Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Benjamin G. Leder, 23, on a charge of possession of more than 5 pounds of marijuana, a third-degree felony which carries a sentence of two-10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
